I’ve just arrived at home after a day of work. What I do next? I have an hot shower, while playing a good Spotify playlist on my Jambox. Then I boil some water to prepare a tea and I sit down reading the news on my Mac, or on my iPhone.
We live in a modern world, although we probably don’t realize it.
Simply think about what you’ve done today and try to figure out how a man (or girl) of 100 years ago could do the same things. Just to begin, I doubt that the parents of my grandparents had hot water in the house, to take a shower, and so it was for 2000 (and more) years before them.
If I think about how technology, medicine and other sciences evolved in the last 20 years my mind blows away. Nowadays I can follow a person that is miles away from me and know (real time) what he’s doing from a photo he posted on Twitter. I have an headache so take a pill. I need something so I place an order on Amazon, comfortably waiting for my new purchase to be delivered from some place in the globe. Amazing.
I know that it’s only the beginning and I’m super excited to discover what’s next. We just need to keep in mind that many things are not so obvious. And besides, many people in the world still don’t have them.
